Introducing the 2026 Madison Corps Project
The Madison Corps Project (MCP) is the first of its kind. Our intent is to include all Madison-based drum corps organizations: current members of the Madison Scouts and alumni from the Madison Scouts & Junior Scouts, Capitolaires & Petites, Capital Sound, and State Street Review.
This project proposal is for a group participation at the 2026 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California, from Sunday, December 28th, 2025, through Thursday, January 1st, 2026.
Facts:
- Everyone participating would be responsible for their transportation to California and back home.
- While in California, housing, rehearsal facilities, transportation to all necessary locations, and most of your meals would be provided.
- Your cost will be determined soon, but we want to emphasize that it would not be as affordable as past MSARP projects due to the location and requirements of the parade.
- Rehearsals would begin on December 28, 2025, in Pasadena. All music and guard work would be available well in advance.
- Information about our uniform, equipment, music, design, staff, and other performance-related areas will be announced after we review our initial survey results and determine that sufficient demand warrants us to continue moving forward.
- We would be using B-flat horns and are investigating lighter-weight percussion equipment options.
- This parade is long (5.5 miles), and the officials keep the pace of this parade moving along since it is on a televised schedule. So, all participants would need to be in excellent health.
Before we continue planning and make a formal commitment to this project, we need to have a sense of demand from as many former marching alumni as possible. We have assembled a quick survey and would appreciate hearing from you whether you are interested in participating or not. It will take you only a few minutes (or less) to complete and submit your survey. The deadline to complete this survey is February 20, 2024.
STAY CONNECTED: Corpsdata has listings for alumni and staff for Capitolaires (incl Petites), Madison Scouts (Incl Jr/Boy Scouts), Capital Sound, State Street Review, and 32nd Hussars. Please make sure you are part of the history of these wonderful organizations, from the past and present, and help future members understand their past.
