A few weeks ago, we sent a reminder to all MCA email recipients. Since we're so close to September, we want to remind you to make sure you are not left on the outside looking in! Even if you are not 100% sure you'll participate, send us your survey by the end of Tuesday, September 1st anyway.
Representation across sections is fairly balanced so far, but we're still waiting to hear from you. Most of our respondents have said yes, but some have not. We want to hear from you if you're one of those alumni who haven't contacted us yet.
Here are the numbers so far:
As of 9/1/2026
Here is how you can help us plan.
Take the Survey
If you have already submitted your survey
Your next step will be to make your deposit payment. Dozens of our survey senders have already paid their deposit, as we carried their accounts over into this project and a few new people have also paid their deposit. It's important to understand that your position isn't locked in until you complete your deposit payment, due by October 1st.
We have applied and have been accepted to perform in the 1.5-mile 2028 Dublin St. Patrick's Day Parade. We sincerely hope that you will participate.
Here is some pertinent information for you to help make your decision:
You will be responsible for your airfare, as well as for getting to the hotel upon arrival and back to the airport for departure. This will allow you to extend your stay on either end of our schedule, March 12-18, 2028.
We will be using a tour company, Bob Rogers Travel, to help facilitate hotel, busing, and rehearsal facilities. The person we have been working with is an alumnus of the Scouts!
We will use an app/online application so you can pay the tour company directly. This app also lets you ask friends and family to help fund your trip.
Remember that this project will include alumni from the Scouts, Capitolaires, Junior Scouts, Petites, Capitol Sound, State Street Review, 32nd Hussar, and Southwind. We are also extending this invitation to the current Scouts.
Instruments and equipment will be handled once we know who will be participating.
The approximate cost will be $2,500 per person for double occupancy and $3,200 per person for single occupancy in a hotel room. There is no option for triple or quad occupancy. Please understand that these costs will likely change by 2028, but we are aiming for a very close final cost estimate.
Costs include: Motor coach transportation, 6 nights in a hotel, all breakfasts while at the hotel, 4 dinners and 1 lunch, rental of rehearsal facilities, sightseeing activities including a visit to the Cliffs of Mohr and Galway, and a Gaelic Games experience, a video of the trip, an international power adaptor, and an onsite representative from the tour company.
2028 may seem far off, but we need you to commit by November 1, 2026.
Optionally, you can bring a family member or friend.
